Fawad Tamkanat
Fawad Tamkanat is a famous artist from Hyderabad who is a known for his work on Canvas. He is the son of the celebrated Urdu poet Shaz Tamkanat. His daughter Afza also loves art and is carrying forward his family legacy.
Tamkanat has been a gold medalist in BFA and MFA at the University of Hyderabad. Since then has been working on his skills and nurturing it and his efforts are very evident in his artwork. His work has never remained the same. He works on different themes like painting in black and white for a specific time, portraying women, capturing images from the busy life in Hyderabad such as market scenes, sharing space with animals and so on. He balances traditional and contemporary elements in his art. His favourite medium has been acrylic though he has mastered many other mediums.
The artist works with a prominent paint maker from Denmark who is also his good friend. He has worked at the Kristen Kajer museum studio in Denmark and exhibited his work there. The artist is known to famous painters and printmakers across Europe. Influenced by Tamkanat’s work, an art collector of Europe and US has collected his artwork.
Tamkanat loves birds and animals. He has donated his animal drawings to an NGO, Blue Cross, which sells his work to animal lovers. He has participated in several solo and group shows. In 2015 he completed his 100th International show with the Miami Art Show. His works are spread all over India and abroad.
