About Varsha Patra
As an artist, she is constantly driven by curiosity and a deep respect for traditional art and craft forms from every corner of the world. She believes it is our responsibility to preserve age-old textile skills and I do this by experimenting, learning, and passing on these invaluable techniques to skilled artisans. Together, they work to keep these traditions alive, reimagining them to resonate with contemporary styles. Every piece we create is drawn by hand, with careful attention to detail, color, texture, and technique, ensuring that each work is meaningful and can be truly connected with— an antidote to mass-produced imitations. The process is slow, often taking days, weeks, or even months, but it is a labour of love. With the support of her dedicated artisans, they strive to bring something aesthetically beautiful into existence, keeping the spirit of handmade textile-art alive.
Artist Varsha says - What makes this journey even more special is seeing my daughter, Nyorah, naturally drawn to this world of craft. Her growing interest fills me with hope, as I believe the next generation will carry forward the knowledge and skills, ensuring these traditions are passed on to the future.
