Murali Nagapuzha

Murali Nagapuzha is a contemporary Indian artist whose work celebrates the harmony between children and nature. Born and raised in the lush village of Nagapuzha in Kerala's Ernakulam district, his paintings are deeply inspired by the landscapes and memories of his childhood. Filled with familiar motifs such as birds, cats, goats, lotus flowers, butterflies, coconut trees, and playful children, his works invite young viewers to connect with the natural world. Through this visual language, he hopes to inspire future generations to care for the environment.

Influenced by the writings of Malayalam author Vaikom Muhammad Basheer and the imaginative worlds of French painter Henri Rousseau, Nagapuzha creates vibrant compositions that evoke an idyllic Kerala where nature flourishes. His canvases blend nostalgia, storytelling, and ecological awareness, transforming everyday scenes into joyful celebrations of life and coexistence.
Murali Nagapuzha is the recipient of the prestigious Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, recognizing his significant contribution to contemporary art.
