About Asma Menon

Asma Menon, born in 1961 and hailing from Chennai and Bangalore, holds a Master of Fine Arts from the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Chennai. She has gained national and international recognition for her mastery in painting and printmaking. Her works have featured in over 10 solo and 50 group exhibitions, including auctions at Christie’s. For more than 25 years, her art has illuminated both ancestral and contemporary Indian character, intertwining myth with everyday life. Her creativity also extends to engaging with children, corporate training, and art and printmaking camps in India and abroad.

Asma has published a collection of short stories titled Moonlight Baby and received a Senior Fellowship from the Government of India, Ministry of Tourism and Culture (2005–2007). She now resides in Thiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, and is currently writing her next novel.
