Naina Maithani Kulkarni
Naina Maithani Kulkarni

[email protected]

Naina Maithani Kulkarni’s artistic journey began when she started promoting and managing an up-market art space in New Delhi, India. A tête-à-tête with a local Vietnamese artist – Tran Viet Son, on the banks of the Thu Bon River in Hoi An, Vietnam inspired her further to became a self-taught artist. Since then, Kulkarni and Son have collaborated and launched their own galleries – 57 Tran Phu & Sonsanto in Vietnam.
Despite keeping a relatively low public profile, Kulkarni has successfully established herself as an Indian contemporary artist of India with her art pieces finding its way in collectors’ home around the world. She firmly believes that her works are a true reflection of herself. She like any other human, or more so as an artist, is allured by beautiful moments – not just because they are exquisite, but in her own words, “because they stir my soul and allow me to experience something way beyond myself and something far greater than my own reality”. With each painting and each season, Kulkarni seems to rediscover within herself a new beginning. One which she primarily dedicates to all those beautiful memories, images, sights and sounds of her hometown – Dehradun and to Hoi An Vietnam and also to all other journeys to follow.
