Shraddha Rathi

Born in 1974, Shraddha Rathi is an architecture graduate and a Bharath natyam dancer. Her practice in architecture ignited the passion for art and finally in she took the plunge to make painting her full time profession.

Through rhythmic forms, colors and textures Rathi conjures thought provoking and inspiring paintings often displayed at various exhibitions and art galleries. Her paintings combine the Indian traditional values and modern experiences with the expression of beauty, aspirations and humanity, which are sure to delight the viewers.

Her latest series is called ‘Likhita Jap’ meaning meditation by writing. Rathi believes that meditation is also a form of repetition, whether it is ‘Ram Naam’ (repeating Lord Ram’s name) , sufi whirling, kathak chakkars or mantra repetition, they are all powerful and bliss, creating an inner awakening and clarity of mind. In her own words, “there are times when the script exists, there are times when you exist and then, there are times when everything is one with the existence.”
