Sarbani Ganguly
Sarbani has been inspired by the artwork at Ajanta Ellora caves in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. She has incorporated the motifs found in these historic caves in her works. Moreover, her paintings have a ‘stone effect’, a unique technique developed by her which resemble the rustic, uneven walls of the caves. Although the works are composed from acrylic on canvas, it alludes a 3d effect. The experience of viewing her works seems to transport you to the UNESCO world heritage site.
